I was impressed by too beautiful Dubrovnik dyed by the setting sun! Croatia Part 5

Bosnia and Croatia

A tour de force of beauty! ~The sunset in Dubrovnik is so beautiful that it is almost too beautiful to be true.

A little after 5:30 p.m. We leave the inn and head for the Pire Gate in the old town.

He said that the best timing to see the sunset is to start from here.

The entrance to the tour of the city walls is located just outside the Pillet Gate.

This time we started from just the opposite side of the morning entrance, which we climbed from the Proche Gate side.

Buy an admission ticket and go up these stairs to the top of the ramparts.

Although it is still a little early for dusk, the atmosphere is different from that of the morning.

The city seems to look different depending on how the light hits it.

The ramparts overlook the Lobrijenats fortress and its cove.

The fortress standing on the cliff is also open to visitors, and I would have liked to visit it if I had had time, but decided against it this time.

As I walked slowly, I looked back and could feel the sun slowly beginning to tilt.

The sunlight reflecting off the sea is absolutely beautiful.

Unlike the shimmering, bouncing glow I saw in the morning, the light is somehow gentle and silky soft.

It was the kind of glow that soothed and calmed my heart when I looked at it.

After walking about a quarter of the way up the ramparts, I gradually began to feel the orange glow of the western sun.

I feel as if my shadow is getting longer without my mind.

As you can see from the view from Mount Surj during the day, the old town is extremely dense with buildings.

And, of course, there are numerous residents living in this old town.

As you can see, there are houses just a stone's throw away from the city walls, and you can see people hanging their laundry out to dry.

In the old town, buildings are old and there is no space to build a balcony, so people hang their clothes outside to dry them.

The residents may feel uncomfortable with the idea of having their lives peeked at, but they can see it, so there is nothing we can do about it.

It may be rude to look at them with too much curiosity, but it is still interesting to get a glimpse of local life right from the city walls.

However, as a person who is allowed to visit the city, it may be necessary to consider the hardships of people living in a World Heritage city.

I believe the same thing would be happening in Kyoto and other tourist destinations in Japan.

Hakodate, where I live, also seems to see an increase in the number of foreign tourists every year.

While the increase in foreign tourists is certainly economically important, it is also necessary to consider the problems and disadvantages it entails.

As always, Dubrovnik's harbor is beautiful.

It is also nice to see the harbor as it begins to get a little dark.

Now it was time for the sunset.

We are about halfway through our tour of the city walls.

The red roofs appear to shine even more brightly in the orange glow of the setting sun.

It is different from the morning view.

Dubrovnik at sunset is also wonderful.

The beauty of the red roofs, the blue of the sea, and the green of the island.

These complement each other.

And a slightly dull wall color.

The colors of the walls of the houses surely add a sense of serenity to this landscape.

If the view had been only the red of the roofs, it would not have been so exquisitely beautiful, even in the famous Dubrovnik.

Bright red and calm light brown.

This fine balance may be what makes this landscape so pleasant.

The sunset is finally entering its climax.

This is the moment when the tints of the setting sun are at their strongest.

Oh... how wonderful...

There was a beauty here that words and pictures could not convey.

Even the air itself that fills this space is beautiful. The rich light of the setting sun seems to color not only the building but all the visible space.

This is a beauty that must be experienced to be believed.

If you actually see and feel it, you will know it at once. Such beauty.

It is a kind of beauty that words and images cannot convey.

As I looked at this view, I thought to myself, "This is a great view.

The beauty of Dubrovnik is a tour de force."

It strikes in an instant with its overwhelming power.

After a powerful blow, we are quickly captivated by it.

Such beauty.

In contrast, the city of Prague, which I visited a few weeks ago, is the exact opposite of beautiful.

Prague Streetscape

Prague gently wraps itself around us and makes us realize its beauty.

It is so cozy that you forget about time and lose yourself in this town.

By the time I realized it, I was already a prisoner of Prague.

It makes me sad from the bottom of my heart to leave this city.

Such was the beauty of the city of Prague.

Dubrovnik and Prague have different qualities of beauty.

Both are attractive cities that are hard to top.

It was a very interesting experience to experience the different qualities of beauty in this way.

Well, the tour of the city walls will soon come to an end. We have circled back to the starting point, near the Pire Gate.

It is now past 19:00. It will soon be sunset.

The sunset tour of the city walls was also very wonderful.

This can go around as many times as you want.

However, I have to leave here early tomorrow morning. I wish I had one more day.

When you come to Dubrovnik, I strongly recommend that you visit the city walls both in the morning and in the evening.

You will never regret the view.
