There is more to see in the Alhambra besides the Alcazar and the Courtyard of the Lions.

The most representative example of this is the Generalife.

This facility is the king's detached palace in the Alhambra.

This place is also registered as a World Heritage site.

The most popular route is to visit the Nasr Palace, which has a lion courtyard, and then head directly to Henelalife.

The green wall is beautiful.

Flower tunnel.

As a detached palace, it is probably more concerned with beauty and comfort than practicality, and has a different atmosphere from the Nasr Palace.

Does this mean that its role is different from that of the royal palace, the center of politics and military affairs?

Arrive at the entrance to Generalife.

This is the courtyard of the Generalife.

The structure of the courtyard, which extends in a straight line toward the back, is the same as the patio of Alayanez in the Nasr Palace.

The colorful flowers and arching fountain water are beautiful.

Cool gardens.

I wonder if this is where the royalty of Granada kept cool.

Still, the courtyard of the Alhambra is beautiful.

The building itself is beautiful, but the beauty of the pond stands out as well.

The exquisite use of water in architecture is a characteristic of Islamic architecture.

Muslims lived in dry areas with few water resources, such as the Arab region of the Middle East, Africa, and here in southern Spain.

Water is the most important resource essential for life.

In a dry world where water was incredibly precious, control over water was truly a symbol of power.

And yet, here in the Alhambra, that precious water is used sparingly for its "architectural beauty".

In a world where even drinking water was precious, being able to do such a thing was one of the most effective ways to demonstrate a king's power.

Leaving Feneralife.

We return home through a road with a landscape similar to Japan.

This is Europe, after all.

Now, we come back to the center of the Alhambra.

The cafeteria we will be heading to is located in the Parador of the Alhambra.

The Parador de Alhambra is a fairly upscale hotel.

It would have been great if I could have stayed here, but as expected, I gave up.

However, the cafeteria in the parador can be used by non-guests.

That is why I came here.

This is the entrance to the cafeteria.

Indoor seating in a chic and relaxed atmosphere and

There is an open-air terrace seating.

The white-walled building on the right side of the photo is the Generalife we had just visited.

I sat down on the terrace and ordered a Coke and toast.

Elegant toast on a plate.

There were many sparrows on the terrace here.

They are accustomed to people and come close to them.

However, I think this is too sloppy at any cost.

They beg for toast.

If you take your eyes off the toast for a moment, you might peck at it.

I have never seen these sparrows before.

They don't seem to be afraid of people at all.

But it was cute and a little soothing.

I was careful not to poke at the bread and enjoyed it.

I thought the price of the cafeteria would be very expensive for a luxury hotel, but I was relieved to find that the price was not that high.

Lunch at the Parador in the Alhambra.

It was a relaxing experience in a wonderful atmosphere.

I highly recommend stopping by when you visit the Alhambra.
