Lecture at Hakodate City University for the Elderly on November 4 and 5, 2021

２０２１年１１月４、５日の２日間にわたって函館市高齢者大学講座にて講演をさせて頂きました。

今回はアウシュヴィッツ収容所を訪れた時の体験を中心にお話をさせて頂きました。

講義の前半では私が何を見て何を感じたのかということをお話し、後半は浄土真宗の開祖親鸞聖人の言葉からアウシュヴィッツという出来事を考えていきました。

Comprehensive learning class at Hakodate Aoyagi Junior High School

2021年10月20日、函館市立青柳中学校、総合学習の授業にて私の世界一周の旅で訪れたアウシュヴィッツのお話をさせて頂きました。

この青柳中学校での授業は、私にとってまさに子供の教育に関わる仕事の「初陣」となりました。これから先も、私の大切な初陣としてこの日のことは忘れられないと思います。本当に嬉しい一日になりました。

In this book, we learn that we are exactly the ones who do not know when we will die, and that many people actually die from sudden death every year. I believe that this book plays a significant role in the coronary disaster. In this article, I would like to introduce the book and share my thoughts about death in our daily lives.

岩波書店から出たこの本が異様に売れているというツイートを見て、「どれどれ？」と気になり覗いてみるとどうやらこの本はものすごい１冊だったようです。いい本がたくさん売れるのは素晴らしいことです。日本人の英語力、いや文化力に必ずそれは反映されます。この本がもっともっと広まることを願っています。
