Mutsuko Suzuki, "Sri Lanka: Home of Black Tea" - A recommended book to learn about the history of Ceylon tea and current plantation life and management conditions!
This book was a kind of antidote for me, as I have often looked at contemporary Sri Lanka in terms of civil war and ethnic conflict.
There are people who are living with various difficulties but are trying to improve their situation little by little. And the results of their efforts are gradually becoming visible in this book.
Of course, this does not mean that all is well and a rosy future awaits us. However, this book made me feel that there is still hope.
I am now more interested in Sri Lankan tea. I am really looking forward to drinking it there.
