A must-see for library enthusiasts! Beautiful Library at Strahov Monastery Monk Takahiro Ueda's Round-the-World Tour in the Czech Republic (3)

Now, let's go inside and take a closer look at each of the sights.

The first stop was the Strahov Monastery, further west than Charles Castle.

The place has been turned into a facility for the Premontres, a congregation that values learning.

To my surprise, the guide told me that the monastery is a brotherhood with the Trappist monastery near Hakodate.

There is an unexpected connection and a sense of closeness.

Now, the monastery is most famous for its two libraries, called the "Philosophy Room" and the "Theology Room.

He said that there is a mysterious world there, just like in the movies.

Rather, the library has actually been used by 007, Harry Potter, and numerous commercials.

This is the entrance.

An admission fee of approximately 600 yen and an additional 250 yen is required to take photographs.

After paying, they go upstairs from the stairs by the entrance.

Then, after being checked by an attendant, they proceeded to the library and exhibition rooms.

The first thing we see is the Philosophy Room. However, it was crowded, so I decided to go to the back of the aisle and see the "Theology Room" first.

Theology Room

Period books are placed in a tight pile.

It houses 40,000 theological books.

And the ceiling decoration and the globes and celestial globes placed in the center create an intellectual atmosphere.

It is breathtakingly beautiful.

Then, when the time was right, we went to the "Philosophy Room.

Oh... what a luxurious library...

The gold decorations everywhere, as well as the ceiling paintings, are also beautiful.

The light streaming in through the windows also adds charm to the atmosphere of this library.

Why do tall bookshelves that cover an entire wall attract me so much?

What a luxury to be able to display my treasured books like this...

The ladder in the left foreground also adds a nice touch.

Use this to get the book you want out of the stacks that are out of reach.

I look around at the books in the room and press my fingers to my mouth to find the book I'm looking for.

Then suddenly, a book catches my eye.

There it is.

Smiling, he gently takes out the book and holds it to his chest.

Then you will slowly descend the ladder and leave this beautiful library, excited about the stories this book will give you.

... I'd like to try.

I would love to try it!

This is the kind of thing...you can't help but admire!

It's really a great place for library lovers.

Highly recommended.

Now, some of you may have noticed after I have told you this much.

Yes. There are no people in either of these libraries in the picture.

What does that mean?

The public is not allowed inside.

Well, if you think about it, it makes sense, but all the books in the collection here are of the cultural asset class.

Furthermore, the library itself is a valuable historical heritage.

If a large number of people enter, those will be damaged.

And that's why you can't go inside.

They can only view the inside from the entrance.

While researching this monastery on Google Maps, the reviews of this monastery caught my attention.

The reason is that many of the reviews were quite low.

I wondered why such a beautiful library was rated so low, but the reviews convinced me.

Most of the low ratings,

What's wrong with this fee when I can't go into the library? And what's the point of paying even more money to take pictures?"

This was the review.

So I don't think you should rely on Google Maps reviews at all.

It's a lamentable low point for someone who was looking forward to entering the library.

If you know from the start that you can't get in, it's no problem at all.

At least, I was very satisfied.

Just being able to view such a beautiful library from the outside was enjoyable enough.

Just as I was about to leave, the friar entered the library.

It may be a normal routine for the monks, but from our perspective, the scene in front of us was even mysterious.
